Começou o seu percurso profissional no mundo da multimédia e do design gráfico. Como hobby, deu aulas de trabalhos manuais a crianças da Cova da Moura, um bairro problemático nos subúrbios de Lisboa, e decorou bolos que se revelavam esculturas, já adivinhando a necessidade de uma expressão plástica e criativa. Decidiu então pôr as mãos na massa e aprofundar os seus conhecimentos na arte da cerâmica.
Em janeiro de 2014, iniciou-se na cerâmica, tendo formação durante um ano e meio no atelier Caulino. Aqui, começou a desafiar as potencialidades desta arte, sem nunca mais a largar. Com os mestres Ricardo Lopes e Vasco Baltazar, aprendeu a trabalhar com a roda de oleiro. No seu atelier, gosta de criar objetos que se perpetuem, independentemente de tendências ou épocas, rejeitando a ideia de fazer tudo certinho ou igual.
Aprecia as imperfeições que o seu trabalho 100% manual não consegue disfarçar. Inspira-se na natureza, no dia a dia e no que a rodeia. Em 2021, juntou ao seu trabalho de ceramista o desafio da aguarela, conciliando essa nova faceta com o trabalho no atelier do artista José de Guimarães.
She began her professional journey in multimedia and graphic design. As a hobby, she taught craft classes to children in Cova da Moura, a challenging neighborhood in the suburbs of Lisbon, and decorated cakes that resembled sculptures, hinting at her need for creative expression. She then decided to delve into the art of ceramics. In January 2014, she started her journey in ceramics, training for a year and a half at Atelier Caulino. There, she began to explore the potential of this art, never looking back. Under the guidance of masters Ricardo Lopes and Vasco Baltazar, she learned to work with the potter’s wheel.
In her studio, she enjoys creating objects that endure, regardless of trends or eras, rejecting the notion of perfection. She embraces the imperfections that her 100% handmade work inevitably reveals, drawing inspiration from nature, daily life, and her surroundings. In 2021, she added watercolor to her artistic repertoire, balancing this new facet with her work at the studio of artist José de Guimarães.

Descrição: O tempo parado enquanto a obra não surge. A escuridão do vazio e a ausência de vislumbre no que ainda é desconhecido. A expectativa contemplativa no meu próprio reflexo. O medo perante os minutos que antecedem a criação da obra que são tão demorados e parecem não terminar. O contra-tempo está na infinitude do vazio e a pressa do termino da obra. A jarra como receptáculo do que irá florir.

Description: Time stands still while the work does not appear. The darkness of the void and the absence of a glimpse into what is still unknown. The contemplative expectation in my own reflection. The fear of the minutes that precede the creation of the work, which take so long and never seem to end. The setback is in the infinity of the void and the rush of finishing the work. The jar as a receptacle for what will blossom.
