Após 13 anos como dentista em Londres, descobriu a paixão pela arte, aprimorando-se em workshops de cerâmica experimental e no curso de Cerâmica da Ar.Co, em Lisboa. O trabalho semi-biográfico de Vania explora movimento e transformação, refletindo a evolução constante da vida. Suas esculturas abstratas evocam transitoriedade e incerteza, incorporando a fluidez da identidade e da existência. As formas ambíguas e as linhas definidas justapõem-se a vidrados densos que fluem, criando paisagens mutáveis a cada movimento. Fluid, organic forms appear to both take shape and collapse simultaneously, symbolizing detachment. Stoneware was initially combined with porcelain, creating a subtle marbled effect. The construction process is slow and meticulous, as the clay must reach just the right drying point to support its own weight. This inherent fragility shapes the sculpture’s final form, with areas that collapse or retract organically over time. The practice demands a full surrender to time and the uncertainty of the outcome, highlighting the symbiosis between technical control and the unpredictability of the material.
